NeonTip Shoes
11/17/2013 16:09
1. Supplies:
Spray paint. The idea is to use a bright neon color of your choice, but you can use any color you would like.
Nude heels or flats. They need to have a shiny, smooth latexy layer on the top that is able to be spray-painted.
Tape. Painters tape or masking tape will work the best.
2. Tear a piece of tape and place it across the tip. Make sure it is not too close to edge or the neon tip would look funny. Also, make sure the tape is placed evenly across the tip o rit will appear lopsided. The tape is needed to create a precise colored tip on the nude shoe.
3. Take the spray praint bottle in the color of your choice and spray the tip in front of the tape. Be careful not to get the spray paint on the wrong side of the tape.
4. After you are fully sure that the spray paint is dry, carefully pull the tape of the.
5. Wear your fabulous new shoes everywhere you go!
Homemade Nail Polish
10/24/2013 13:51Supplies:
Clear nail polish- Any brand will work
Eyeshadow- The eyeshadow color should be the color you would like your nail polish to be. I suggest a cheaper brand
Toothpick- If you can't find toothpick, a bobby pin will also work.
*OPTIONAL* Paper- You only need a small piece to make a funnel, but this is ot neccessay for this DIY prject.
A clear working area. You may want to choose an area that is easy to clean or put paper down in case the eyeshadow powder gets messy!
1. Begin by taking the toothpick and scraping the eyeshadow color of your choice. Make sure to keep the powder in the eyeshadow container.
2. Take the tiny slip of paper and make a funnel that ends in the nail polish bottle. Make sure the wider side of the funnel is face up. Using the toothpick, push the eyeshadow powder into nail polish bottle.
3. When you are sure all the eyeshado wpowder is in, begin mixing the polish and eyeshadow together with the toothpick!
4. When you are sure the polish has been mixed toether completely, and it is the color you would like it to be, paint your nails! You can even name the polish with a little sticker.
Pistachio Necklace
10/09/2013 13:34
This DIY is super easy to make!
1. Supplies! You will need:
Pistachio shells! I suggest 34 shells, but you can use however many you need.
A piece of thin cardboard. It doesnt need to be too big.
Glue gun or tacky glue
Acrylic paint in the colors you desire your necklace to be.
Mod Podge
Brush, a smaller brush would be best, but not too tiny.
Necklace Chain
Jump ring and lobster clasp
Needle nose pliers
Scissors
2. Take the thin carboard and cut it into a semi-circle. THis will be the base of your necklace.
3. Take the jump rings and attach them to the corner of the cardboard. Take the necklace chain and attach it to the jump rings.
4. Paint the pistachio shells the colors you desire. After you are sure the paint is dry, add 2 or 3 more coats, or until you are sure the entire shell is covered.
5. When you are sure the paint is dry, take the mod podge and add a coat to all the shells to add shine and seal the paint.
6. Take the shells, after they have dried, and begin gluing the shells to the cardboard. You will want to begin with the bottom layer and work your way up.
7. Show off your gorgeous necklace everywhere you go!
